A long, long, long, long, really super long time ago when I was going to college in Charlotte, NC, my friends and I used to frequent this bar/restaurant called East Blvd. Bar and Grill. It had the most amazing honey mustard dressing. Pairing that dressing with their delicious golden round French fries and a beer was a match made in heaven. In fact, I just checked their website and saw a photo of those famous French fries!
Fast forward many, many, many, many years. Now I live in Portland, OR. And while I don’t drink beer anymore, I still love French fries and honey mustard dressing. I recently bought some raw honey for the therapeutic value of it.
And because I had some Dijon mustard and Soy-Free Vegenaise on hand, I started Googling honey mustard dressings. After a few false starts, I found a recipe that matches the memory of my all-time favorite honey mustard dressing to a T. Since I find it to be so freaking fabulous, I thought I’d share. Without further ado friends:
1 ½ cups mayonnaise (my favorite is soy-free Vegenaise, but any mayo will do!)
¼ cup Dijon mustard (So far, I’ve only used my all-time favorite, XXX, and it’s da best!)
½ cup honey
Just mix these three ingredients together and you’ll have a super fabulous home-made honey mustard dressing in minutes!
NOTE: Those following special diets where small ingredients matter much might want to check into using Spectrum Organics mayonnaise or Trader Joe’s Real Mayonnaise and Trader Joe’s Dijon Mustard with White Wine.
