I’m one lucky broad and I know it. Not only did my darling family and I get a chance to take an extended trip to Southern California to escape some of the dreary Pacific NW winter, but while on this dream trip, I got a chance to meet an amazing woman–fellow voice actor Leslie Wadsworth.
Here’s how it all came to life. After spending the month of February in fabulous San Diego, it was time to head to our March destination–Los Angeles. After a few emails back and forth to the ahhhhmazing Stacey Stahl, founder of SHE, In Both Ears, and Creative Entertainment Management, we realized that we were going to pass Leslie Wadsworth’s home on our way north. Since I had my gear on me, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to interview Leslie for a SHE Spotlight.
So, we got the chance to stop at her home for a few hours and boy did she roll out the red carpet for us! Her entire family treated us like special guests, and our daughters got along like old friends.
Our lovely daughters hit it off immediately!
After feasting on a freshly-made salad on their back patio…
Leslie took me back to her adorable studio, filled with tons of quirky little knick-knacks, for the interview.
This super fun woman got her start in voice acting at a radio station in 1985 when she was living on The Big Island in Hawaii.
And WOW, did this highly sought-after voice actor have some amazing stories to share. One of the raddest tales was that she and her striking husband, Jack, played He-Man and She-Ra in the Masters of the Universe Power Tour in the 1980’s. How cool is that?
