One thing that there is never any shortage of in my freezer is sliced up, frozen bananas. I always have several containers of them on hand for smoothies. While noting the abundance of bananas in my freezer recently, I decided to try my hand at making banana ice cream.
I’d heard of banana ice cream before but never realized just how easily it could be made. I found several recipes online that gave me the ideas on what ingredients I needed and what kitchen equipment works best, but I didn’t find one exactly like the one I ended up making. I felt that some of the recipes either had too much chocolate, or worse yet, not enough! What I ended up creating turned out just right.
First, I gathered enough frozen banana slices to equal two bananas. I put them in my food processor along with 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, and 3 tablespoons of rice milk and voila! Out came a creamy and delectable dessert.
2 frozen bananas, sliced
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
3 tablespoons rice milk
What to do:
Put all of the ingredients in your food processor and blend away. If it’s too thick, add another tablespoon or so of rice milk.
